God is good when things are flowing flawlessly, and you feel as though you are the most blessed and most favoured.
God is good when the fissures become cracks, and everything is falling apart, and you have nothing or no one to anchor you.
God is good when the enemy arises like a flood, and you feel like you’re drowning.
God is good when you’re praying and you don’t see help right away.
God is good when He says he's your help but you don't see it.
God is good when His saints do not behave as saints.
God is good no matter what is happening or not happening. No matter what is being said and not said.
In this week, God has reminded me that He is my refuge, my fortress and my shield. It’s remarkable the onslaught one faces day to day, yet we go days, weeks, months, even years without acknowledging His goodness, His protection, His mercy.
There are many disappointing things that have and are taking place, but immediately, Jesus reminded me who He is to me. I’m reminded of when Jesus stood before Pilate and told him whatever power he has was given to him by heaven. And reflecting on that, physically Pilate looked strong, but the truth is that he was standing before the Creator of the heavens and the earth. What we see does not reflect what is true. What you see does not negate what God said. What you hear does not negate what God said. What people say does not negate what God said.
If you remember anything, always remember this: power belongs to God. Any human being on earth operating in any position of power received that power from somewhere. There is a source from which they derive their authority or legitimacy. People boast as if they are the source of power, until the resurrection power of Christ begins to work and humbles them.
Hold your peace.
