Valentine

Once upon a time, a friend sent this to me. I found it, and I thought I'd share it, as it is the month of love.

You remind me a great deal of art

An art collector spends a great deal of time to find an appropriate piece. He does not simply pick up any and all pieces, because that would be costly and unreasonable.

No, a true artist will wait and take hold of those specific numbers which catch more than their eye; something that will grasp their heart so much they could do anything but ignore it.

Such a piece would be placed in highest regard, in their finest room.
It would be lavished with expensive lighting so that its characteristics - its detail - would not be easily overlooked.

What once captivated the collector to buy it only inclines his passion for it each day the more.

As he sees new things and gazes on and on he falls even further toward it.
Never seeing the same thing twice, nor feeling only one emotion on its account.

Perhaps the passion of an artist is seldom different from the love of ones heart.

In the same way that I hold you in high regard, and carefully picked you from a hectic display of pieces. Not because you were cheapest and easiest to understand. But rather, because you were most captivating – such beauty that could be credited to nothing less than the very hands of God, perhaps with a double portion of attention.

If it were possible to look upon you a million times and see the exact same thing, I have failed to do so yet.

You captivate me. Intrigue me. Compel me. Capture me.

As I look upon you each passing day I learn and see new things, and I fall even further toward the love that we stumbled on.

Such value could not be related to any tangible amount.
If it could be bought I would not be able to afford it, and if it could be earned I would not have the ability to deserve it.

You’re a timeless piece. One that I will hold tight until my breath escapes me.
When a guest is in my home, I will boast boldly of your beauty and character.

I will proclaim the excess of delight that you cast on my heart.

I will hold you in that highest place, in my finest room, under the most exquisite light until the heavens say otherwise.

I love you!
