A WORD: Monday Wisdom

I’m determined to watch my steps and tongue so they won’t lend me in trouble. I [have] decided to bridle my tongue… Psalm 39:1(MSG)

Let’s do something new. From today until the end of the month let’s speak life, think life, and act according to what is positive. Think about what you are thinking about. Don’t find fault in anything. If you do, correct yourself. Speak words of productivity, of health, of wealth, of peace, of excellence. Build with your words. Correct yourself with your words. Counteract the negative with the positive. Bridle your tongue.
Bridle your thoughts. When they are steamrolling through negativity seek the silver lining. For the next two weeks, be in control. Pull yourself up from being a spectator of your bad habits; refuse to succumb to the feelings of guilt of your bad habits; be bold. Stand guard at the gates of your mouth and mind. Command your thoughts to slow down. Command your emotions to stop and unwind before responding. Your emotions shall no longer be permitted to come in like a flood. They must be in single file, and must make a case for their entry.  Choose the one most appropriate for each situation. But let every choice be life-giving, uplifting and transformative. Today, do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought. Let the fruit of your words be savoury and sweet.

~Watch your words and your tongue; you will save yourself a lot of grief.~
